Anglesey Day 2
MONDAY
After breakfast at the hotel in Trearddur Bay, we set off for the RSPB reserve at Cemlyn, with a quick stop to admire the old windmill at Llanddeusant en route.
Cemlyn is home to the only nesting colony of Sandwich terns in Wales—over 2,000 pairs at the moment, all noisily ferrying fish to their chicks.
Next stop was the delightful harbour at Cemaes Bay (see extra photo), then we continued on to the historic Amlwch Port (main photo), where we had a break at Skye’s for crepes and coffee. From there, we drove to Point Lynas, then on to Din Lligwy to explore the remains of a settlement dating back over 1,700 years, along with the ruins of the 12th-century church.
We wrapped up the day with a stop at Red Wharf Bay before heading back to Trearddur Bay for dinner.
