Knautia emulsion
A great morning at the RHS for my regular session as part of my residency there. I was helping dead head the roses and hardy geraniums in the wellbeing garden, so more conversations than photos today. I’m definitely in the getting to know people stage of the process rather than the creative stage. I’m really interested in doing some anthotype images, and so want to get started with that as soon as possible when there’s as much daylight as possible. So I brought some Knautia flowers away with me to experiment with. Like the lupins I tried last year, the deep maroon flowers seem to produce a turquoise colour emulsion.
I even used the table in the new studio to paint the papers up (and they are drying in the dark in the shed part of the old garage). I am going to enjoy the extra space rather than having to do this in the kitchen!
Also managed to plant some “flowers for wildlife” seeds in the front garden.
