Clematis
This afternoon I had to stop to do a quote for a new customer. Her daughter is friends with one of my other new customers this year. This clematis is growing beside her garage door and it is spectacular.
Truck problems this morning. It started fine this morning, then when we finished the first property, I got in my truck, and it wouldn't start. The battery had died. Bishnu and the homeowner were able to give it a boost so I drove it to the next property, and left it running while I called CAA. They will bring a new battery and install it on site. Plus they give you a 6 year warranty, so if anything happens to it during that time, they replace it free of charge. My $130 annual CAA membership has more than paid for itself this year.
When I got was on my way home this afternoon Jean sent me a message asking me to call her when I had the chance. I knew what it meant as soon as I read the message. Alan passed away this morning. So I have spent quite a bit of time this afternoon and evening on the phone, calling people in the brunch group. It's not something I wanted to send out in a group email, although I will send one in a few days after the obituary is posted online. Alan did not want a funeral, and I'm not sure if there will be a celebration of life at some point. I think for the brunch group, we will have our own little memory time in a couple of weeks. Plus we will make a donation to a charity. Although Alan would likely have told us to take the money and go out for supper somewhere.
I am giving myself until the end of the year to decide what to do about the brunch group. I want to be able to do other things on a Sunday sometimes, but over the past couple of years I have felt that I have to be at brunch.
