Before and after
A before and after photo of the garden we worked on today. The shrubs that were there were too big for the space. There was a large grouping of hostas in the corner by the doorstep. We decided to keep the rhododendron and remove everything else. I planted a mixture of shrubs and perennials and a couple of ornamental grasses. In the fall I will likely go back and plant some spring bulbs. We spread some mulch in the gardens in the back yard too. We planted things in the back yard last fall, and they have been enjoying looking out and seeing different things in bloom.
We rescued the hostas, and they have been planted in one area at a church where I have been maintaining the gardens.
I had a call from one of my clients today. We spread 15 yards of garden soil last week for the new beds in front of her house. The guys that did the new walkway were supposed to be there this week to put fresh sod down, but now they say they can't do it for another 2 weeks. She has company coming and wants things to look good. Plus the place has been under construction since August 2024. So I told her that yes, we would get it done. The company that was supposed to do it, they do a lot of lawn mowing, and I think they should stick with mowing lawns. They did a nice job on the walkway, but never installed the edging that should go along the edge. I mentioned it to the general contractor because he is friends with the owner of the company who did the walkway. They are trying to get into doing more walkways and hardscaping. They were later doing the walkway than what they said they would too. Another week where I will be trying to fit 6 days of work into 5, but that seems to be normal for this year.
