Life is a Challenge!

FLOWER FRIDAY - HOLLYHOCKS

I wandered around the garden first thing - but not as early as Mr. HCB, who was out there again before 6.30!  The Clematis Vitella Valour is looking good next to the Trachelospermum, but these beautiful Hollyhocks, grown by Mr. HCB from seed, were calling to me, so here they are for Flower Friday.

I have spent much of my morning on the telephone trying to sort out my cardiology appointment, having received a letter this morning with a “holding” appointment for - wait for it - 25th December 2025!  I think I may be otherwise engaged on that day!

I knew it was a “holding” appointment just to let me know that I was “in the system” because it said so in the letter, but was told it several times whenever I managed to speak to a real person!  However, speaking finally to the Cardiologist’s secretary, I was informed that I was down as an “urgent” case, but that this could mean a wait of at least 8 months!  What’s all that about?  I must admit I had a tear in my eye when I heard this.

Fortunately, a friend was coming for coffee this morning, so I was able to chat to her about it and although she didn’t stay long, felt much better after her visit.  She also brought me some flowers so that cheered me up.

Anyway, we are now considering whether it would be worth going to see a Cardiologist  at a nearby private hospital so that he can interpret my results and let me know if I can drive again.  It’s not that expensive and I have had all the tests - ECG, 72 hour heart monitor and more recently a heart scan/echocardiogram, so if the NHS is willing to share the results with a private Cardiologist, it would leave an appointment for someone else on Christmas Day.

Thank you for all your kind comments on yesterday’s Community Fridge Blip - I apologise for not commenting, but was really tired when we got home from our Church Meeting.

Hope you all have a great weekend - thankfully, it is much cooler today, so I am just going to sit in the garden, read my book and enjoy the coolness of our lovely garden.
