Life is a Challenge!

IN MEMORY OF DEAR ADMIRER

Hello Lovely Blippers,

We wanted to find a quiet spot in the garden today so that we could sit and remember dear Admirer - for new Blippers, you may not know of her, but she was the wonderful lady who started Silly Saturday several years ago and we still carry on the tradition today, even though she passed away 5 years ago today.

You know how Mrs. HCB loves a good quote, and she suggested we use this one for today, attributed to the Scottish poet, Thomas Campbell, who lived from 1777-1844 - so a very long time ago, but the words are still true today:

“To live in the hearts of those we leave behind is not to die.”

We think that Admirer would be surprised to know that the tradition she started still continues, but such is the power and wonder of Blip and the friendships made on here - so we still remember those who have been Blippers but who have now passed away - and we think of their families too.

I never met Admirer but she was the very first to comment on my first Blip on 1st January 2013.  How special is that?

Whilst remembering Admirer, we also remember David Threlfall, who passed away two years ago tomorrow and we are sure there are many you will be remembering too.

We only just managed to get this photograph taken before it started raining and Admirer would have giggled if she could have seen us all trying to get back indoors before we got soaking wet!

It just remains for us to remind you all to BE KIND - because we never know how much it means to someone if they receive one of our smiles - we know we sometimes forget, but this is your weekly reminder and a reminder to all of us too!

Have fun whatever you are doing,

Sending love to you all from
The Silly Saturday Gang xxx

P.S.  We wonder if you spotted the surprise addition to our Silly Saturday Gang?  When Mr. & Mrs. HCB went for their Afternoon Tea at Bowood House the other day, Bertie Bowood almost jumped into Mrs HCB’s bag - so they decided to bring him home to join the gang - we think he will fit in very well and he wanted to hold one of the carnations from Mr. HCB’s garden that was picked especially for Admirer today.  We have put in an extra shot so you can see him better - we think he is quite a handsome bear!
