Stone Circle
I didn’t sleep well, and was then woken early by the youngest members of our group running around in the corridor. We woke up to rain, and after breakfast when we were choosing our activities for the morning, I was not feeling very inspired. Most people were going out on the water, but I decided to walk into Killin.
I actually really enjoyed my walk along quiet roads and tracks. It was very dull and overcast, but for most of it the rain stayed off. It did start to rain again on my return journey. I was too hot to put my rain jacket on, so simply used my brolly, and I remained dry. Just as I was almost back at base, a very kind lady stopped to offer me a lift, as I didn’t have a coat on! I thanked her, but declined, as I was almost back.
After our picnic lunch, TT and I decided to join the group of canoeists. We canoed along the Loch to Killin, “parked” our canoes and headed to the coffee shop, where drinks and cakes were enjoyed ahead of our canoes back. I should have said that TT and I were in separate canoes, as I have a theory that if you canoe with your partner there is no chat, but if you canoe with someone else, there is lots of chat. It was certainly true for me, as I had a very entertaining journey with a friend. I really enjoyed the afternoon, partly because the loch was so calm and the views and reflections were amazing.
After dinner we had a beetle drive, which was lots of fun. I then had an early night, leaving TT and friends drinking whisky.
BB was playing in a rugby 7s tournament in Northumberland today, and is camping there overnight. They went from playing rugby to a beer festival!!
This is the Kinnell stone circle near Killin. The extra is a young bird, maybe a robin, and another late night image, taken before I went to bed around 10:20pm
