Parched
I stayed indoors all day, the house doing a decent job of keeping the heat at bay. I didn’t register how warm it had got until I stepped outside briefly to put the bins out. It’s one of those muggy evenings where the air feels like it’s clinging to you with very little movement.
Lunch was some leftover Greek salad, which was still crisp and cool from the fridge, but there was a disproportionate amount of red onion in the leftover portion. Refreshing not to have to cook in the heat. The plants in the back looked a bit sorry for themselves, so I gave them a good soak in the evening. The soil in the plant tower dries out very quickly.
Dinner was fish, steamed leeks and one of those lentil pouches from the back of the cupboard; quick work once PY got in. Not exactly inspired, but tasty enough.
