Uig Bay from Timsgarry
My plans for today had to be changed. I planned to drive to Harris to meet up with photographer, Margaret Soraya.
I didn’t feel well during the night. By morning I knew that I had a UTI. When I go abroad,I always take some old antibiotics, just in case, but not this time.
At first I thought I would be fine and I set out on the long drive, >60 miles. The nearest surgery did not open until 10 but I made it to the next one, nearer to Stornoway.
I registered as a temporary resident. The receptionist said I should do a sample, but there was no one there to test it. Hmm. My offer to do it myself went down like a lead balloon.
The “solution” was to drive back to Mirvaig for the other surgery opening at 1030 and hope someone would test it. (All I wanted was a prescription.)
So far along the road my phone rang. I stopped the car to hear the practice nurse asking how I was. I was now nearer to the other surgery…
She was great. She said I should start on treatment and not wait for the test results. She sent the prescription to Mirvaig and the dispenser put it up after I arrived.
I did not go to Harris, but I came back here and sleep all afternoon. I feel quite a lot better, so I had a very short drive to another point over the beach.
This is a panorama on the iPhone. The beaches here are as good as many on Harris (imho).
This evening I listened to a talk about the Callanish stones and an app that has been created to allow more people to know about them.
