Beauty is all around us.

Cornflower.

The Feast Day of Saint Rainerius. Died 1160.
Patron saint of Pisa, Italy
He turned his disorderly life around from self indulgence,- to a humble life in monasteries. He didn't become officially ordained. He only ate on Sundays and Thursdays. He drank only water.

Today has been a mix of sunshine and strong wind. 21.9c in the living room.

The blue cornflower was grown from seed. Slugs ate some of the plants before they flowered. I discovered slugs also like Sage leaves. I will try the Vaseline along the edge of the flowerpot idea and see if that deters the slugs climbing up. Coffee grounds work too, and crushed up egg shells.

I am waiting for the Oriental poppy buds to open. There are many healthy light green leaves. A future blip, hopefully.

Jasper the visiting cat and our Hunter got into a scrap. It was typical territorial ginger tom cat behaviour and bullying from Jasper. I heard a loud cat scream, and it was poor Hunter being chased by a much larger Jasper. Paul was very angry. It wasn't pleasant. We made a fuss of poor Hunter when he came in covered with bits of plants from when he took cover in the garden next door.

I hope the rest of the day will be calm and free from cat fights!

Canal Boat Diaries is on at 8pm. Always interesting, if you like canals.

Take care and enjoy today.

Thank you for visiting my site blip friends.
