Ulysses Olive Tree
We searched for the oldest Olive tree on Ithaca yesterday and couldn't find it until our friends took us to it last night on the way to a friends for a meal.
On the way to Vathi, we returned to Agios Ioannis village to take a photograph with Mrs BB alongside. It's dubbed the Ulysses Olive Tree and is reputed to be 1.500 years old - with a girth of 18 metres! The extra is another photo' of it.
For those wanting to see it, the following coordinates will help:
What Three Words : fatherhood.crumpets.freeway
GPS: 38.390403 20.661626
After a coffee in Vathi, we bought 2kg of black olives to enjoy when we return home, and spent a couple of hours on Dexa beach - under a couple of old olive trees!
