HEAVY TRAFFIC TODAY

Traffic OK on the way to Mum's this moring, we arrived at about our usual time no problems.  Took her some shopping and did a few chores for her, had lunch couple of coffees and then came home.  

Different story coming home.  The weather had changed and was pretty dreich so we didn't stop.  We drove back along the A6 through via Morecambe and Levens.  

The traffic was pretty bad, mostly in the opposite direction.  I understand there was nose to tail traffic on the M6 at about Junction 35 so people coming off causing nose to trail traffic through Carnforth, largely due to a few sets of traffic lights.

At Ascona Mosdale Service Station on the A6 just before the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis there was a nasty motorbike accident.  We arrived just as the police were beginning to direct traffic through.  There was a motorbike on its side but that's all I know.  There were more police and an ambulance arriving as we drove through.  I so hope there were no fatalities but I don't know and refuse to speculate.  I understand that as I am typing this it has all been cleared now, so VERY WELL DONE TO CUMBRIA POLICE AND AMBULANCE SERVICES - THAT WE VERY VERY QUICK.

There are a few events on in the area adding to lots of traffic delays, but that's pretty usual this time of the year.

Next week there is going to be another Mike Myer's Day in Barrow so loads and loads of motorbikes arriving on Saturday and going home on Sunday, so we won't be going anywhere next weekend.  Unfortunately this means that the next time I see my Mum will be on my Birthday as she and my Sister are taking me out for lunch as my birthday present, which will be lovely.  We can go over in the week if its needed of course.
