Green in the city
Green, of course, plus pink ducks....plastic ducks which have been glued to some of the new(ish) planters in Coalie Park. Quite funky.
I headed to the optician first thing, walking down the Water of Leith to get my blip. I had not realised until I called in there recently to make an appointment that it was nearly 3 years since I had been to the optician. I really should go every year, not least because the NHS will pay for me! I was a bit discombobulated afterwards because not only did I have the pupil enlarging eye drops which made it hard to see (and made me very sensitive to strong light), but I also left my preferred spectacles at the opticians to have some eye wateringly expensive new lenses put in them. I didn't see the point in having new frames, since I like those frames and they also have detachable sunnies. Hence, I'm managing without sunnies for a few days, although I do have some (distance) sunglasses in the car for emergencies. I also ordered a new pair (a third pair) of reading glasses, so that I can keep some in Tain. One fewer thing to remember when we're traveling backwards and forwards by car. They are not exactly cheap either.
Anyway, by the evening, everything had settled down again and my eyes had more or less adjusted to my second favourite varifocals, which will do for now.
After that, it was a shorter day at work, not least because I decided to get the bus home again at 4pm after meeting a colleague for a cup of coffee (how ill advised of me) in mid afternoon. Working through the emails that have come in during the day this evening and looking forward to a busy couple of days being a pillock of the establishment.
