Sally Mair - Loving life

... and relax

Most of my demanding tasks for this week are over, now I can relax. Hopefully the warm weather is going to last a bit longer and I can get some work done in the garden . The blackcurrants are almost ready, the branches bending under the weight, not helped but some very fat wood pigeons who sit on the branches while eating MY fruit.
I was taking the mid week service this morning which I always find both a privilege to be able to do it, and a huge responsibility to get it right for people.. I am now sitting with everything crossed that they will find somebody for the last Sunday in June, as taking a Sunday Service, with the addition of music and increased numbers, is an even bigger responsibility.
My next appointment was very pleasurable, I met Janet our newly appointed Rector, in the garden of Modern One, my blip today. We spent two hours chatting and getting to know each other. I'm even more convinced that she is the right person.
Next stop was in town returning the shoes which I bought a couple of weeks ago. There has been a delay in my orthotics and they wouldn't arrive in time for me to check they fitted in the shoes. Fingers crossed I'll be able to rebuy the shoes when they do eventually arrive.
It's been a beautifully warm day today, very pleasant for sitting outside. I was amused when walking back from the shoe shop to bump into Janet, walking in the opposite direction along Princes Street.
