The Woodland Garden (Wednesday 11th June 2025)
I mentioned that I was down to three Japanese acers, and here is another (the third, now past its prime, is in Extras). I had my neighbour B.'s help in the garden on Sunday and today I went out to buy some Cotswold chippings to complete the patio floor, but unfortunately I couldn't find what I needed anywhere. The search continues.
Thanks to Steveng for Wide Wednesday on the theme "soft organic from nature".

Beach Boys - Don't Worry Baby (recorded 7-9 January 1964, Hollywood CA)
R.I.P. Brian Wilson (20 June 1942, Inglewood CA - 11 June 2025)
This is the 11th Beach Boys LOTD, posted to celebrate one of the greatest 20th Century musicians and writers.
Don't Worry Baby was actually written for the Ronettes, as a follow up to the Phil Spector production Be My Baby, which Brian Wilson had been amazed and inspired by. The Beach Boys version of Don't Worry Baby appeared on the B-side of God Only Knows.
"In 1994, Ronnie Spector recalled that she and Wilson had discussed Don't Worry Baby in 1963 on the only prior occasion they had met: "It was the follow-up to Be My Baby and [Brian] came running into Gold Star Studios and said, 'I wrote a great song for you!' But of course [Phil Spector] didn't do the writing on it, so [we didn't record it]." She would eventually cover the song as a solo performer on the She Talks to Rainbows EP (in 1992)." - Wikipedia
