Scratching an itch
This morning we drove to Bosta to scope out a possible walk for later in the week. We started on the beach, then walked inland past the Iron Age house and up the gentle hill until we reached the point from which we could see Reef, Pabbay, Valtos, and the Aird peninsula. Here we enjoyed tea from our flask, and a snack of bananas and caramel wafers. Then we turned around, wandered back to the car, and headed back down the road for a late lunch date at the Uig community café with Richard and Jo. (Depending on the weather and the preferences of the friend who is joining us on Wednesday, we may complete this walk in full on Thursday or Friday.)
After a visit to the community shop to stock up on groceries, we returned to the Hayloft to relax for the rest of the day: gazing out of the window at the beautiful view and passing wildlife; reading our books (I'm enjoying Wife by Charlotte Mendelson); playing games; and working our way through the last couple of episodes of Department Q.
I blipped one of the Highland cattle that was grazing just above Bosta beach this morning.
Exercise today: small amount of walking.
