Bog cotton
Today's tandem excursion was to Aird. We wanted to visit the old First World War look-out post at the end of the peninsula. The terns did their best to put off, but we made it there and back unscathed.
Afterwards we went to The Edge café for tea and cake. Here we first chatted to a couple from West Caulder. We can see their luxury cabin holiday accommodation across the bay from Baile-na-Cille. Then a Canadian couple came in, and we talked to them for a while too. They'd experience a bit of a mishap when they first arrived in the Outer Hebrides having accidentally booked a hotel in Tarbet, Argyll and Bute rather than Tarbert, Isle of Harris!
Our enjoyment out in the sunshine on our bike together over recent days has persuaded us to think about another top-to-bottom tandem holiday. We spent some time this afternoon working out the practicalities of this for May/June 2026.
After another largely sunny day, it looks like our fine weather luck may not deliver tomorrow: there's a 50% chance of rain predicted in the afternoon. However, Tuesday looks good again with plenty of sunshine :-)
On the games front, I'm currently Carcassonne champion, but not doing so well on Scrabble. In the last game I could have gone out on a Scrabble and won, had I known that 'roundlet' was a word.
I blipped the bog cotton on the way back to the track from the look-out post this morning.
Exercise today: 1 hour on the tandem; small amount of walking.
