Sitting on the balcony overlooking the Saar valley and its beautiful very tranquil. I think this is going to be a very chilled holiday.

Dragon boat race in Saarburg tomorrow so that is Sunday sorted. We will take the rest of the week a day at a time. There appears to be plenty to do.

We drove through France to get here and the border was on a residential street in a small town. Nothing to show you that you were leaving one country and entering another other than the obvious, e.g. within 100 yards, we went from shops and restaurants advertising French fare to restaurants offering bratwurst and schnitzel. Very surreal. You could go out for a meal and enjoy a French starter and then trot up the road and have a German main. If you wanted to go to the extreme, you could drive to Luxembourg for desert. Its only 15 miles away :-)
