Birthday Cupcakes

Becky, Mike and Astrid arrived around 12.30pm.  Astrid immediately opened the big toy box and chose some things to play with.  The rest of us had coffee and a catch up.

Then we drove to The Metrocentre to go to the Toby Carvery for a " day after my birthday " lunch.  We had a table booked for 2pm.  Good job we had booked as the place was packed.  The food was lovely.  Astrid enjoyed a yorkshire pudding but she also ate all her carrots and peas.  She had ice cream for pud.  

No pud for the rest of us as we had cupcakes waiting at home.  Baked by Becky and Astrid.  The four in my blip were extras and have been left here for me to eat myself.  No chance of getting back " on plan " anytime soon.

After " No Mow May " the grass in my front lawn was very long ... and after my cataract surgery I'm not allowed to mow it until 2 weeks have passed.  So Mike offered to do it today.  He used my electric mower as its better than the battery one for cutting longer grass. He had it done in no time.  

We had more coffee while Astrid played and then around 5.30pm my visitors left to go home.  Lovely to see them - its so easy for them to pop up or for me to pop down to see them now that they live in North Yorkshire.  

After they had left I intended watching TV for a bit but I fell asleep in the chair for a while.  Since my cataract op Ive been feeling rather weary and often have a headache.  And today my leg ulcer has been especially painful.  Might have to have an early night.

Ive added an Extra of some of the sunflowers which Becky sent and which arrived in the post yesterday.  There were enough for 2 vases.  

Weather today has been bright sunshine one minute and then heavy rain.
