Bits and bobs plus 89 bus cr*p and ceiling woes!

Off doing the weekly shop and got to Tesco for 10am. After that I nipped to Boots then B&Q before heading home. Got the washing dry which was good. Glad I took it in before going to visit Terry as it rained a bit soon after leaving home and not long after I arrived at Terry's bedside, it chucked down.
I was running a little late to catch the 13:12 bus - probably would have made it as it is usually late but didn't want to risk it as I can't run so I decided to go for the next bus due at 13:29 (strange times as they should be 20 mins apart but for some reason these two aren't).
Trotted off to get to the bus stop a few minutes before time (it's usually late so I expected to be standing there a few minutes) but no, it came early by 4 minutes and I was not far away but like I say, I am unable to run so I missed it. Grrr.
Walked downhill (away from the route to the hospital but it's easier downhill) past another stop then on to the next and it started to rain so up came the brolly and I continued on another stop. It's a fair way to go to another one so I opted to hang about there and good job I did because that bus came early too!
Terry had been for his CT scan and had bloods taken but had not seen a doctor today. He wasn't feeling too good probably because of a bad night. He had fallen asleep before getting the oramorph so he missed it and the night was very noisy due to the call buzzers and alarms going off. This new call system is absolutely awful - everyone is complaining because it's so loud. Also, they are having trouble turning it off as the batteries keep running down on the bedside units so then it goes off without stopping! I don't know who designed it but they want shooting - all patients and staff want to throw the units through the window. I don't know how much this new system has cost but here we go again with more NHS wasted money. This is bound to be scrapped as it's totally unsuitable.
Went to catch the 16:02 bus home and it came at 16:16. Happy days!
On top of all this one of our back bedroom ceilings fell down! This has been pending for a week or more - I noticed a bulge and it has slowly escalated. It's a plastic ceiling with lights in and one of several that Terry installed but no idea why it has failed - it's been up quite a few years but others we've had up far longer. I told Terry about it early on when I noticed it and he said he had some plasterboard props in the garage which would hold it. I looked high and low in the garage but couldn't find them - it's a big garage workshop - and of course I have an idea of what they might look like but I have never seen them so perhaps I looked at them and didn't notice them. I had several "searches" for them but gave up and resigned myself to the ceiling falling down. If Terry had been at home it would not have happened - he'd have fixed it in no time. Such is life.
I've taken a number of things out of the room in readiness and just kept the door closed but I have been having a twice daily peep and this morning it seemed stable (and has for the last 2 or 3 days) but when I looked about half past 5 this evening - most of it had fallen! It brought down a small piece of the original lath and plaster ceiling as well, which landed on the bed.
See extra.
Spoken to Terry soon after to tell him the news ( I know he doesn't want to hear this but at least now he won't keep wondering if it has fallen down). Spoken to him again late on as we have a goodnight phone conversation. Hope he has a better sleep.
