Not a Canal Reflection
I took the bus down to Bingley this morning for my physio appointment at Canalside. Neighbour Brett picked me up at the bus stop so I had plenty of time before the appointment. As I've taken on the 'Better than Yesterday' Garmin Challenge I decided to walk along the canal, take in the sights and build up my step count steadily. There were no ducks breaking up the reflections of the mill apartments or the Damart factory (if you know your thermal underwear you will know of Damart!) so I took several blips from which to choose later.
For most of the stretch I was walking, the canal runs very close to the busy ring road and the railway line, so it was exceedingly noisy over the wall on the one side and peacefully tranquil along the canal.
Once in Canalside I made my way upstairs to the Physiotherapy Dept. and popped in the Ladies where I spotted this smiley tap. It made me smile so it had to be my blip.
The Physio and his Student were very thorough. They took a full history of my knee issues, asked many questions, did an examination and then took me through a number of exercises designed to show the limitations of movement. They asked what was my goal and I told them it was to be able to compete at the Scottish Six Days in July. They then took me through a number of daily exercises to strengthen the knee; hamstrings; glutes and quads. I now have an appointment with another Physio for one to one training to meet my goal, for the next six weeks.
In other news I have booked friend Helen and I in to see 'The Salt Path' next week at Ilkley Cinema and I have booked Tony and I in to the Mobile Cinema (a giant truck) which is coming to the garden centre carpark as part of Bradford2025. That will be a novelty! We are seeing 'Conclave'.
