Garden Gate Crasher

It was one of those miraculous days where everything on the to-do list actually got done - for once! I'm not sure how it happened, but I wasn't about to question it. We even managed to sneak in a well-deserved coffee at our local garden centre, which felt like a mini holiday after all the ticking and crossing off.

But the real star of the day? A very cheeky parakeet who decided to drop by uninvited, clearly thinking he owned the place. We often hear them squawking in the trees or see a flash of green zipping overhead, but this was the first time one actually landed in our garden. Not only did he make himself comfortable, he marched right up to the bird feeder like he was browsing a buffet. The other birds looked slightly alarmed, but he didn't care, just helped himself without so much as a thank-you. I half expected him to pull out a tiny napkin and settle in for lunch.

Honestly, it was the most amusing thing I’ve seen in a while-and definitely the highlight of the day.  Even the sparrows looked baffled.
