Montserrat
We were up very early today as we’d decided to go to the Laudes (Dawn Service) at Montserrat Abbey. It was practically deserted as we drove up the very winding and steep roads. After the Laudes (enjoyed the Gregorian Chant from the Benedictine monks) we waited in a queue to see the Black Madonna (very moving). Back down the hill for a big breakfast at our host’s family restaurant, before driving to the Parador in the afternoon. It’s 4 star luxury at an affordable price, thanks to Mr P getting us a good deal! We explored the historic village it’s in but the heat drove us back inside. There was a spectacular storm this evening which we watched from the restaurant terrace, so I’m sure it’ll be a lot cooler tomorrow.
