Bikes, bikes, bikes

The weather was a bit better today and a lovely morning to have a quick recce to our parkrun venue for Ascension Day (extra).

We then went into the city and had a wander around the sights, including a walk up Strøget, the longest pedestrianised street in Copenhagen (maybe in Europe).

People watching of course was part of the day, while enjoying lunch. The number of bicycles is amazing, and the discipline of cyclists and drivers is exemplary. Not many powered bikes that I noticed, unlike in Edinburgh where you are constantly at risk of being mown down by some hooded fast food delivery maniac. Here, they get around swiftly on old fashioned bikes and seem to obey the rules of the road, so everyone is safe. Not a lot of hills, of course, so not so much need of electric bikes.

EDIT: Got the date wrong initially, now changed (I hope) to Wed 28 May.
