Ascension Day

Thursday was Ascension Day, a public holiday and an extra day for parkrun in some of the Nordic countries. And so, it just happened to be the perfect occasion for our first Danish parkrun in the lovely Amager Common in the south of Copenhagen. It was also our eighth parkrun country. It was a beautiful morning in lovely surroundings and more than 460 people ran and walked round the 5k course, the majority of them tourists from UK, Ireland, Poland, Germany and further afield. A well organised and happy occasion.

Later in the day we had a walk in the gardens of the Rosenborg Castle and then the Botanic Gardens, where a family of little coots were keeping everyone entranced beside the lake. (Extra).
