Copenhagen!

We arrived in our accommodation in the southern part of Copenhagen just before midnight on Monday night, so Tuesday was a slow start. The weather was pretty grey and cold with periods of rain. We went out later to Nyhavn and managed a nice lunch there in a covered, relatively cosy courtyard area. A few rather nasty rain showers made this a good choice. We had been booked on a walking tour in the afternoon but it had been cancelled due to lack of numbers and weather forecast, so we were actually quite glad about that. Instead we took a canal boat tour in a barge that had at least some cover and were highly entertained by the amusing guide. I sort of missed out on the Little Mermaid, though, as just at the point we were passing, a deluge of water came off the roof on to my seat, so I had to do a quick shift! I  have seen her on a previous stopover in Copenhagen and know how underwhelming she is, so I wasn’t too bothered!

Afterwards we took the waterbus back to our area, did a bit of shopping for breakfast etc and then ate out in a local Italian restaurant.
