Church of St Basil, Bassaleg
“I've had moments when I've thought about somebody, picked up the phone to call them and they are on the line already, and I think that maybe there's some vibration, some connection.”
Clint Eastwood
A called in this morning for a walk around the boating lake, plenty of catching up to do since our last meet-up in October last year? Extended our stroll to see if there’s any signs of life at The Manor yet, we’ve been hearing rumours the tearoom is re-opening but still locked up, so we headed for the golf club for me to get breakfast. Still a bit of catching up so we did another circuit and then headed back to base – perfect timing as M phoned for her pick-up as we arrived. K1 had been asking about parish records and we’d pinpointed the date using Ancestry, but we didn’t know if there was a burial so we headed off to Bassaleg to have a scout around the church on the off chance. Made a couple of circuits but no sign, but did manage a few shots of St Basil’s which may come in useful for the Family History journal.
