WHO'S GOT GOOD NEIGHBOURS?
Hello Lovely Blippers,
I wonder if you have good neighbours where you live? When Lynn, the lovely neighbour of Mr. & Mrs. HCB popped over to see them last night, she said that she was fed up with looking out of her kitchen window and seeing the mess on the grassy area over the road and she wanted to do something about it. Mr. HCB said he had an industrial size strimmer and he would be happy to go and strim the grass and brambles - he said HE would do it and would not entertain either Mrs. HCB or Lynn using it - I wonder why?? We did hear him mutter to Mrs. HCB “Remember the state you got in when you pressure washed the patio!!” How rude - and what could she possibly do wrong with a strimmer - after all it does have a guard on it?
Anyway, this morning just after 9.30 they all got out there - Mrs. HCB included, although you can’t see her in this shot - and started strimming, pulling up the weeds from the gutters and sweeping it all up. Mrs. HCB used the loppers to trim the bramble bushes which looked a mess, but we could tell that she wanted to get her hands on the strimmer - but Mr. HCB said again this morning, “Definitely NOT - I’m watching you!”
They all got on really well and another neighbour came out to look and said he had been thinking of doing it, but just hadn’t got around to it - Mrs. HCB said he was too late, it was nearly finished - and of course they had us to help them too. We think that Admirer would have giggled if she had seen us - we couldn’t even lift the strimmer, let alone use it! Ha ha!
Sadly, Mrs. HCB didn’t take a “before” shot, but this is an “after” shot of Lynn holding her bucket of weeds, all scraped out of the gutter and Mr. HCB leaning on the loppers - cue for a song there - “Oh I’m just leaning on the loppers by the fence across the road...”!
It just proves that everybody needs good neighbours and the HCBs are so glad that Lynn and Mike live next door and are always ready to help out - in fact, Mike came out and did his bit, after going to the shop to buy the weekend newspapers. We did hear Mrs. HCB say to Mike “Team work makes the dream work” - just like she says at the Community Fridge each week.
So, it just remains for us to remind you all to BE KIND - just like we have all been this morning - and we are now sitting having a cold drink after all our work, and a Kit Kat - the HCBs do know how to look after us!
Have a great week - we can’t believe that today is the last day of May and tomorrow is June - where did those 5 months go?
Love to you all from The Silly Saturday Gang xxx
