FLOWER FRIDAY - NIGELLA OR LOVE IN A MIST
Sometimes, I am spoilt for choice for flowers in our garden, but as I have seen quite a few Nigella shots recently, decided that ours needed its 15 minutes of fame on Blip.
Nigella, or Love in a Mist as it is commonly known is such a beautiful flower and I don’t think that pre-Blip I ever really looked that closely at the intricacy of flowers. Yes, I looked at them and thought how beautiful they were, but never really looked closely at them - and I’m sure that many of you are the same.
I don’t normally bring any of our flowers indoors, as I prefer to see them in their original setting in the garden, but once again, this morning, it was quite windy, so I knew I would never get a good enough shot - well good enough for me anyway!
So I snipped just this one and brought it indoors, had a play with different shots, and ended up with this one - it’s a good job I’m retired and am able to do all this faffing around and of course, it saves me having to do housework!! The beauty of these too, is that they self-seed and even the seedheads are wonderful.
Perhaps we should all learn to do this:
“Flowers don’t worry about how
they’re going to bloom.
They just open up and
turn toward the light and
that makes them beautiful.”
Jim Carrey
Have a great weekend. M xx
