The Wild West!
A really wild morning - rain and gusty winds. This is why I don't have herbaceous borders up here! My friend Jo came in at lunch time - she'd left her car outside our house while she and friends had a few days on the island of Barra. Fortunately they'd had reasonable weather there - I thought it would have been worse, but they hired bikes and had a great time!
I began writing up the words about my Irish holiday. I don't know why I do it, but I enjoy it! Then I went down to Tesco's to send a card and cash to the kind lady from Doolin who sent my fleece back after I left it on the wall outside her hostel.
This afternoon was a total change - sunshine now and then and wonderful huge fluffy clouds. I drove up to Pulpit Hill to take some photos, then along to Ganavan Sands to do likewise. On the way back I called in at the Corran Halls to have another look at the shrub beds that we discussed with the council yesterday. Today's Blip is the smallest and worst of the many beds - even if the council guys are not gardeners I can't understand how they can leave it like this. But to be fair, the council has decided that they will no longer maintain their rose and shrub beds so the guys are not really to blame. My extra is the one I'll probably go for - there are a few salvageable shrubs in their and a few perennials. It's beside the footpath too so probably gets seen more than the others. We'll see!
