The Lantern tree
A mixed day today - I should have done some work outside, but it was pretty windy so I gave in and stayed indoors to finish going through all my Ireland photographs.
This afternoon I had a meeting, along with a couple of my Keep Oban Beautiful committee members, with a local councillor and a member of council staff. They wanted to to discuss any projects that we had in hand or had in mind and when I told them of the difficulties I've had getting any sort of agreements with the council they were horrified. Let's hope that we can begin to make some progress and can get some of the enthusiasm back among our followers.
By the time it came to walk home - after a quick detour to Tesco - it was roasting! I stuffed my jacket in my backpack and took my camera out. My Blip today is of Crinodendron hookerianum, a Chilean shrub with lovely lantern-like flowers. I've always grown these in 'my' gardens, but don't have room any more. Fortunately this one overlooks a public path so I'll be able to watch it grow!
