A new project started

bWe started working on this project today because it is on the same street as another client. The gardens have been raked, some of the larger weeds have been removed. There is still lots of work to be done.

The first potluck picnic with the travel/social group was held this evening. I didn't count how many people attended, but I think there was at least 25 there. An excellent turnout. I thought I would take the new Burnside connector to get there, but that was a mistake. I got about halfway thru and traffic was slow moving for the rest of the way.

My friend, Alan, who runs the brunch club with me is back in the hospital again. He called me as usual on Friday night, then he didn't show up for brunch on Sunday. He called me that afternoon to let me know he was in the hospital, and that he had fell on Saturday. I called our friend Jean on Sunday evening, to let her know. She tried to call Alan that evening and all day Monday, but was unable to reach him. Finally on Tuesday morning he returned her call. He said he had been in and out of consciousness on Monday. Jean spoke with him again this evening. She says he still doesn't sound good, and is having problems breathing. She is going to try to get in to visit him tomorrow and will let me know how he is doing. I suspect that he will not get out of the hospital, or if he does, he will go home for his family to take care of him, and he won't be able to get out anywhere by himself.
