Sweet View
This is the view of Clevedon Pier from Sugar Lookout, a folly built by a local family in 1835 to give them shelter while they enjoyed the view - though they had to wait a while for one of the pier, which wasn’t opened until 1869.
It’s the first time we’ve been to Clevedon for a while and we enjoyed a walk along Poet’s Walk around the headland to the little harbour )and a golf course I didn’t realise was there!) then back for a chippy lunch sitting overlooking the man made Marine Lake, where people swim and paddle board and sail model boats.
Like the pier and the town itself, it has a genteel, old-fashioned charm.
