Gently down the stream

Mint moth

This rather charming little creature is, I believe, a mint moth.  Usually these moths have a lovely purple sheen, but looking on the RSPB Chalk Downland Butterflying website I see it's not that unusual for the colour to be missing.

The walk on which I found this was my reward for today's blood test and although there's quite a lot of cloud around the weather's been pretty beautiful.  The rest of my time has been taken up with looking after Duke, doing the washing and strimming the grass back and front.  And reading, of course - I don't think I'd ever get through a day without that!

Last thing to say for those interested is that ApolloFly and Nicoiseannie have very kindly offered to host WildFlowerWeek through June, beginning next week.  Thank you, both - and I will of course put a note on the Challenges page to that effect.

Have a happy evening  xx
