A Memorable Day
Today was The Speech From The Throne , delivered by King Charles III. (extra) I was glued to the TV for hours. What a day! It was wonderful to see Charles and Camilla being welcomed so warmly and in turn being so gracious and warm to those who came out to see them. So many hands shaken!
I am in awe of the stamina that those two have, especially Charles who despite being treated for cancer, hopped on a plane, flew across the ocean for a visit that lasted about 24 hours in which he performed an endless series of kingly duties, which required walking and standing for hours on end, delivered the Speech for which he came, and followed that up with more handshaking and laying of wreaths before heading back to the airport to fly home! Whew! I do hope he and Camilla realize how much all that was appreciated.
So that was the biggest part of the day; then there was afternoon tea with Elaine next door, a wee sit on my deck watching the birds and bees (main) in my backyard, followed by the hockey game tonight which Edmonton won...YAY...and finally, a quick Duolingo session before heading off to bed. Zzzzz
