In the Hackesche Hofe - Berlin
The Hackesche Hofe is the old Jewish quarter of Berlin and outside some of the dwellings are brass plaques set into the pavement of the people who were living there and where they were taken off to the concentration camps and exterminated.
Extra photographs: the TV tower which we went up and saw the panoramic view of Berlin; and a view of the old Russian communist area of the city which of course is open today. We also visited Alexander Platz where the East Berliners held their rallies before the Wall came down and visited the DDR Museum by the river.
