Jack in the Green parade
Another beautiful day! Super sunny, but very cool in the shade, which made it perfect for both Tim and me (lots of standing in spots where he could be in the shade and I could warm up in the sun). I cut Tim's hair for him first thing, and then we walked down to the High Street to catch up with the parade (and then got ahead of it to take lots of photos as they came down Fore Street). A fabulous mix of samba and Morris - what's not to love?!
I managed to identify Pete (fellow Cairn Conservation volunteer) in one of the giant costumes, by his boots, so we caught up with him briefly as the parade made its way to the Clapping Circle. Stood on Capstone and watched the maypole dancing for a while, but decided we didn't need to stick it out until the end, having seen it all last year. Instead, we trudged back up the hill to home - Tim with sore knees :( - and Tim made us fancy coffees, which we sat out in the front garden with.
We were both really tired after all that, so had a restful afternoon and evening.
