Garden day
Another beautiful sunny day! Tim and I did something we've been dying to do for a while - tying all the plants back up onto our new fence. The poor things have been bowed over for weeks, waiting for it to be finished - and now they're all back in place and looking rather happy. The ornamental quince, on the left here, needs a good prune, but we'll give it another couple of weeks, to allow it to finish flowering first.
We'd also planned to re-pot the two intertwined acers that we brought with us from the flat (which had self-seeded in our window box there), but after a quick web search realised that this was a terrible time to do it, while they're actively growing - so instead we just plonked their current pot inside the new one. It kind of works - and at least we get to see them in situ :) Just need to decide what to put in all that lovely new bed alongside them now.
I also pruned the honeysuckle in the front garden, and a few things in the back garden, too. Pleasing. Pretty exhausted after all that - and finished doing myself in by watering our new hedge while Tim cooked us a delicious dinner (beany chilli with wraps and sour cream). Five trips up and down the wonky steps at the side of the house to fill the watering can from the tap. I spent the evening desperately trying to stay awake through whatever we were watching on TV!
