Easter Ross highlights

A fine and relaxing day with C and K. We did the highlights of Easter Ross. After a leisurely breakfast of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, we headed off to Tarbat Ness, where the gorse is mighty (see extras). We stopped at the Carnegie Cafe on the way back for coffee and a snack. Onwards, around the peninsula to stop off at the beach to show C and K where I swim and then to see two stones - the Shandwick Stone and the Nigg Stone (blip) (in Nigg Old Church - see extra of the church which is a fine wee building with an interesting history).

Back here we made a further trip out to have more coffees and snacks at Piper's (including a visit to North Coast Glass), as well as labouring in a bit in the garden to plant up the new eleagnus and a couple of other new plants which we really don't have room for).

Finally, after a wee rest, we walked down to Platform 1864 for dinner.

By the time we came back (through a fine and gentle evening which made a bit of a contrast to a relatively windy and cold day), I was pretty much ready for bed.

A fine day with friends.
