Purple tansy

More delightful spring experiences in this beautifully created countryside.
Wildflowers are exploding from everywhere and displaying their colours in a variety of different colours and shades unrepeatable by any measure.
The purple tansy is the farmer’s choice of green manure often found amongst the clover, not only for the soil but also the flowers attract insects that require the nectar for food.
Deer seem to be very abundant and cloth eared Dippy enjoyed several lengthy forays through woodland and fields.
A call from a good friend in need of some LV resulted in a wonderful day outdoors including an ascent of Codden hill and exploring the surrounding countryside.
Lunch was enjoyed at the Lemon tree cafe.
Next some charity shop browsing provided some excellent finds before a cool drink and cream topped rhubarb tart by the riverside.
A short breather before a short drive to participate in Great Torrington’s annual Round the tree “race”. This is part of the May week celebrations and carnival events. Dippy wore the number and we enjoyed lots of banter and laughter from the huge crowds who came to celebrate and enjoy the superb summery atmosphere.
Post on a tree stump in extras.
