A day of two halves
This is a tiny stencilled mural at the base of a wall beside Sheffield Cathedral. I haven't been able to find out any info about the artist. I really like it though. The cathedral has a well-established outreach and support programme for homeless people in the city centre, and I have wondered if this inspired the image. Another one for the ArtUK database project.
Later the day got away from us a bit. I picked up Frieda as usual on Thursdays, but by then Marianna was feeling really unwell and we all agreed that a visit to A and E was the best option. Cutting a long story short, I picked Simone up from nursery on the way home with Frieda, and Richard and I looked after them both till bedtime (we took them back to Jack and Marianna's house to put them to bed). Jack cancelled an evening work commitment and kept M company during the long hospital wait.
Marianna did get a thorough batch of tests at the hospital. Her chest x-ray is clear, but there's evidence of persistent high levels of chest infection, despite two rounds of antibiotics. So she's come home with some new antibiotics, and a referral to a specialist infection unit where they hope to pin down more details about what's going on. She's demoralised by it all - she's knows she needs to rest, but that's very hard to achieve with work and two small children. With luck we can all help her out a bit with that.
