Elephant Garlic!

A friend from church brought round some flowers and this head of elephant garlic - it is massive - fills my hand. Apparently, it's actually related more to leeks than to garlic, but does taste like garlic, only milder. Haven't tasted it yet, but we'll definitely try growing it. As garlic enthusiasts - my family joke that, whatever I cook, it begins with garlic - this is exciting.

Managed to get all the sanding done and the first coat of varnish on D & S's bedroom floor today. Just several more coats and all the painting, and they can move - but only the remainder of this week to do it - will we manage?? I spent most of the time making a bed in the garden and planting out lettuces for them, and then cleaning the place up. SO tired and achey, and feeling guilty for not visiting my Mum...
