Hoverfly Hovering
About the best my camera can do, I think, with such a small insect. Hoverflies are extremely welcome in our garden - as well as pollinating (especially with the dearth of bees at the moment), their larvae eat aphids - which have been plaguing my roses and apples.
And, continuing the theme of a while back, these lilies were given to us last summer by a colleague to welcome us back to the UK. They didn't last long, we put them outside and forgot about them - suddenly, here they are, flowering - lovely surprise - thanks, Margaret!
Great news today. Met with the team, and my Mum has been accepted on the residential wing of the Home, under the care of a lovely lady with the same last name as my Mum. She moves tomorrow and I am very happy, relieved and grateful.
