Parkrun fiesta for a special 500 volunteer

Parkrun relaunched their 'parkwalk' so with my knee giving me jip I decided to parkwalk. First I did my favourite role as first timers welcome.  A beautiful morning for parkrun and I welcomed some fabulous tourists and 3 first-timers. During my parkwalk, which gave me a new perspective on parkrun,  I met a lady who was doing her first return parkwalk following a heart attack. She was able to complete the 5k and delighted in explaining her recovery story. 

We had made cakes and tablet to celebrate E's 500 volunteer stints. That, along with some bubbly and a post parkrun meet at the zoo with our team made for a fabulous parkrun fiesta. Parkrun people are fab!

Sophie's for lunch, some gardening in the afternoon and home-made burgers for tea, completed a fab and unforgettable day.
