Ha Noi Graffiti
This is a rather accurate depiction of the traffic here! There are millions of bikes and mopeds. I'm almost used to just walking out into traffic, my heart no longer feels like it's going to explode every time anyway. We've seen enough flowers for a wedding, tonnes of rice, a tree, babies, chickens, a dead pig and countless other weird and wonderful things on the back of bikes.
We went on a walking tour in the rain though the city which included a prison. Apparently the French treated Vietnamese prisoners incredibly badly but when the Vietnamese had captured US soldiers they had a lovely time. They played sports, read letters and had great Christmas dinners. I find the propaganda amusing but I wonder how many people do believe it. It's such a stark contrast to Cambodia where everyone spoke very openly about the atrocities that occured.
We went to a water puppet show in the afternoon which was odd. Good, but odd.
Dinner that evening was at a fancy place as quite a few of us were leaving. Great food (new food red snapper) but a lot more than we were used to spending. I blew half a million!
