Eið Willows
A windy day, but a beautiful sunny day, cloudy this evening. It's not been overly warm.
Weekend off, slept well this morning, finally up and about after breakfast. Two loads of washing out. Walkies with Sammy, nipped along Madeline's. Headed down to Jonny's before lunchtime. Nipped into Lerwick in the afternoon, then a few hours in the garden. Working in the shop this evening, a busy night of customers. A few drams with friend Julie tonight, her birthday tomorrow.
It's nearly the end of the cutting season for trees to be planted. I had a few willow cuttings to pop in at mam's now established trees. Granddad Maikie planted the ones on the right 50 odd year ago, mam and dad planted the ones behind in the 1980s, then I've been planting the newer ones. This latest ones are almost five years old now, and fairly come on. Always been lots of birds attracted to them, hopefully more now they are growing well. Taken at the Eið (Aith) meadows, Cunningsburgh.
