Quiet Day at LSI

A sunny, but cold breezy morning.  Clouded over, calmed and then sunny again.  Cloudy, windy and showers starting this evening.

Up at 5am, headed for an early shift in the airport.  A fairly quiet day. A morning working with oil and gas flights, then on the check-in desk.  I managed a good walk with Sammy, before the rain started.  Off to bed early again.

I got caught in traffic this morning, delayed for two hours.  News soon came in, a sad and tragic death of a 25 year old man, killed in a road accident.  The road has been closed most of the day, we were allowed to get through to open the airport.  Most flights were cancelled due to the accident and road closure. Things started moving again when the road partially open in the late afternoon.  A few oil and gas flights made it in and out, as they didn't need to travel to or from the airport.  Heart goes out to the family and friends, the community is saddened by the news.  Oil charters at Sumburgh Airport.
