Blossoms...again

The sunshine and dry weather continues. Thankfully today the breeze had calmed down so when I took these photos of the blossom it was easier to do so as they weren't waving around madly. These were in the woods and I saw them yesterday but decided to photograph them today, as they don't last very long. Our white cherry blossoms lasted less than two weeks, they are already all off the tree, whereas this year our star magnolia flowers have lasted much longer than usual.

I had a long chat with Adam this morning as he was waiting at the airport to get the plane back to San Diego. He worked in his previous lab at the Cambridge Institute of Medical Research all of Sunday after we left, and all day yesterday until about 10.30pm trying to finish off experiments needed for a paper. Anna, who is a bio-engineer rather than a pure scientist, was assisting him as he had so much to do. I am sure he is flying back feeling tired after a hectic few days here while also dealing with jetlag.

It was very enjoyable seeing all the wildlife images in our camera club competition last night. This deservedly was the winning image, by a member who is now a full time wildlife photographer. Images showing animal behaviour rather than static portraits of animals scored much better, you only have to look at the images in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition to see that an image showing animal behaviour is very much necessary for an image to do well.
