Not. A. Kestrel.
I heard the kestrels this lunchtime, so I grabbed the camera with the big lens and went outside. There was a bird sitting on the high wall where the kestrels often perch. It was so far away I couldn't tell what it was, but it didn't fly away, which the kestrels always do as soon as you venture into their field of vision. What is it, I wondered. So I zoomed the lens, took a photo, and then zoomed on the back of the camera. It's ... a starling. A very handsome one though!
Some admin at the notaire this morning, and then I baked my hot cross buns (extra). They are pretty good although the crust was a bit harder than I would have liked. A mistake to use the fan oven I think. The spice level and crumb are great though. Worth the long wait!
Also, I blogged the Moroccan soup, along with a pretty terrible photo. Don't let it put you off.
It's pizza night tonight! So we invited S and T over, then discovered A and B had arrived from Scotland last night, so they are coming too. Looking forward to catching up with them all.
