First ever clematis flower
First ever clematis I’ve tried to grow. I thought they would be difficult. Love these drooping little blue flowers.
Another morning working at my allotment, feels like I’m getting it a bit better organised and tidy. Such a delight to be there. I’m alternating sitting, standing, kneeling and bending over - to give my achy bits a break:) No position for too long is what the physiotherapist advised.
In the afternoon I went down to the city centre again to spend another big chunk of my savings. Went to the Apple shop to get a new i pad. I use an i pad an awful lot - for blip, e mails and admin, streaming films, reading the news, learning new information, banking and mail order. So I couldn’t do without one, and the one I had didn’t have the strength to download a film any more, and was clearly failing. I don’t much like Apple as a company but I do like their products. I was served by two women, one who did the sales, the other was a ‘genius’ (yes they really are called that!) who helped me set it up. They were both fantastic, gave me just the right amount of help, without being patronising because I’m older. By the end - back up was loaded onto the new one, glitches sorted, old one wiped to be renovated - we were all laughing and having a good talk. The ‘genius’ woman was inviting me to go to some free classes, including using your i pad to create drawings and ‘paintings’. But she hadn’t heard of David Hockney, or his amazing later art using his i pad, which I saw a few years ago at the Royal Academy. So I left her looking at them on her i pad.
